Job Title: Occupational Health Nurse 3

Location: 100 NE Adams St, Peoria, IL 61629

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Schedule: 5 days a week, Third Shift — 10 PM/11 PM to 6 AM/7 AM (work week starts Sunday night)

Position Purpose:

Serves as a highly skilled and autonomous occupational health nurse within the Corporate Medical Department, providing comprehensive nursing services related to employee illness and injury while supporting health, safety, productivity, and employee engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides clinic support for employees and addresses basic occupational nursing needs.

• Triages employee injuries and responds to on-site medical emergencies.

• Conducts DOT drug testing and fit-for-duty evaluations.

• Conducts post-offer examinations for the hiring process.

• Performs return-to-work evaluations.

• Provides care for non-occupational illnesses.

• Conducts OSHA-mandated and other surveillance exams.

• Supports Disability Case Management activities.

• Supports medical staff and outside entities in determining the work-relatedness of injuries.

• Acts as a local liaison with contracted occupational health providers.

• Supports Human Resources and facility leadership with health, safety, productivity, and engagement initiatives.

• Supports wellness communication and on-site wellness programming.

• Participates in special projects and program delivery.

• Maintains confidentiality and follows applicable governmental regulations.

• Seeks opportunities to improve and develop best-in-class occupational medical practices.

Skills/Experience:

• 3–5 years of Emergency or Clinic experience required.

• Strong triage skills in an autonomous setting.

• Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment.

• Strong computer skills.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

• Good team player with strong organizational skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate’s degree in Nursing required.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
